Common questions

A web import did not pull in everything correctly.
Most well-known recipe sites publish structured data that Plate reads directly. Less common sites fall back to reading the visible page, which can occasionally miss a note or section header. Tap the flag button in the recipe editor right after the import to send us an encrypted report, and we will tune the importer.
My recipes are not syncing between devices.
Open Settings → Sync Status in Plate. Sync depends on your iCloud account being signed in on each device, the iCloud Drive setting being on, and Plate having iCloud enabled. If the status screen shows an error, the details there say what went wrong.
I lost a recipe. Can it be restored?
Plate does not delete user content automatically. If you removed a recipe by accident on one device, it may still be present on another. If a device still has it, share the recipe from that device as a Plate recipe file and open the file to import it back.
How do I export my recipes?
Open Settings → Export Recipes. Plate can export your full library to its own .platerecipes archive (which preserves photos), or to Paprika, Recipe Keeper, or Crouton formats.
